We live in South Florida and to our surprise, a lot of homes here do not have gas ranges. Adding gas wasn’t in our budget (in fact I’m not even sure if we can do that in our neighborhood), so the search was on to find a beautiful electric range. I wanted a gas range look and stumbled across this Verona Designer Series Range! This was the first appliance we picked out after weeks of searching for a matte black range that would fit the aesthetic of our modern kitchen. Aesthetics were what drew us in, but this range is amazing and in today’s post I’m sharing a review of our Verona Designer Series range!
Before I share more about this oven, I do want to share a friendly disclaimer that I am in no way a professional chef! However, I am the chef of the family and use this oven almost every day to prepare meals for a growing toddler and two adults. It’s also important to note that we had a high end range in our last home and a standard range in our first condo, so I’ve cooked with appliances of all price points.

OUR MODEL //
The model we went with is the 36” Designer Series electric range in matte black. The size is great and fits our space perfectly. The home originally had a 30” range, but we wanted something a little bit larger to anchor the space and we love how substantial it looks!
PRICE & AVAILABILITY //
This exact model retails for $4,149 on Amazon. It is on the higher end for an electric range, but it checked all of the boxes for us. We wanted something that was matte black and had a gas range look with sleek and modern lines. On Verona’s website, they also have a specialists locator. There were several near us, so we felt comfortable with the idea of repair if needed in the future.
DESIGN //
Like I mentioned earlier, the design of this range is what drew us in immediately. It’s so sleek, simple, and modern which is exactly what we wanted for our modern kitchen remodel. We opted for the single door because in our last home we had a double door range and never really used both at one time. I wanted the option to cook sheet pan meals on a large baking sheet and this is perfect for that. I also wanted a stove that had feet! I know that’s oddly specific, but it’s one design feature that I love. This range sits a little bit higher than our previous range and we absolutely love that. Our California home had a similar setup but it was harder to clean under and dog and baby toys would easily get lost under it.
FUNCTIONS //
The electric cook top has 5 burners. I typically only use 2 at one time, but I love the larger burner in the center of the stove! They heat up quickly and cook very evenly. The oven has 7 different cooking functions; normal convection, forced convection, semi-forced convection, radiation, radiation and fan, semi-convection from the top, and ventilation (for defrosting foods). I typically cook things with normal convection and this oven cooks so evenly! The range light is always on when cooking which I really like, but just wanted to note that. One of my absolute favorite things about this oven is that it has a soft-close door! I’ve seen high end ranges that don’t and was absolutely shocked- it’s a small feature that is so nice to have! It also has a small drawer for storage at the bottom.
CLEANING //
The top is incredibly easy to keep clean in comparison to other electric ranges that we’ve owned. The oven door actually can come off completely! We haven’t taken it off yet, but it looks fairly easy to do from the instructions. You also can remove the inside glass in case spills get between the glass and need to be cleaned. I also love the feet and that we can clean underneath! One thing to note however, is that this range does not have a self cleaning mode.
REVIEW SUMMARY //
Overall, we absolutely love this range! The size, the design, and the functionality of it are all really great. The design alone makes it worth the $ in my opinion! It is so so beautiful! Fun fact- you can also get different colored knobs! We have a matte black set that I plan on putting on soon but they’re also available in burgundy. We would recommend this range without a doubt, thank you Verona for partnering with us on this project!
