Every once in awhile it's really fun to be a tourist in your own home state and that's exactly what Mr. Jones' family and I did over the holidays. We were both raised in Kentucky and while Mr. Jones has had his fair share of distillery tours (he's in the wine + spirits industry), I've only been to a couple of distilleries. The day after Christmas we drove out to Woodford Reserve and not only is the ride there gorgeous, but the tour was so much fun!

Like any great wardrobe staple, Woodford Reserve bourbon is in style every season. Moto jackets might not have been a thing back in 1780 when Woodford began distilling, but accentuating the waist certainly was. This suede number does just that with it's cropped fit, so it's basically (ok, sort of 😉 ) the modern version of what women wore back then!
I'm no history buff (although I aced History of Fashion 101!), but I've always loved places and things that tell stories. The beautiful hand laid stone and gorgeous copper stills at Woodford alone were enough to strike my fancy. Truth be told, I barely listened to the tour guide because I was so distracted by all of the architectural beauty! That and thinking about what everyone was wearing back when distilling started (and how bad they smelled without deodorant-ew)!
Despite being so distracted (it's a daily struggle, just ask Mr. Jones), I did learn a thing or 2. I also came to the realization that bourbon is a lot like fashion. Whether you're building your wardrobe or your bourbon collection, stocking up on classic items is always a good idea. You can never have too many crisp white shirts or bottles of Woodford Reserve, my friend!
Have you ever been to a bourbon distillery?! I can't wait to do another tour the next time I'm in Kentucky. Thank y'all so much for stopping by today, have the best week!
Xo,
Haley
