When Mr. Jones asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday a couple of weeks ago, a picnic at the beach was at the top of my wish list. I already had the perfect outfit planned and finally pulled the plug on this gingham lined picnic basket after having it in my shopping cart for a week (ok, I'm addicted to Amazon Prime too but who isn't?)! Not only did Mr. Jones excitedly agree to champagne at the beach, but bae surprised me with a nice bottle of bubbles AND a leash and harness for our future puppy! Seriously, how did I get so lucky?!
This year I decided to actually take the day off on my birthday and it was THE BEST IDEA EVER! Mr. Jones was working from home that morning so we got to spend time together and I did absolutely nothing. Working full-time along with blogging can be a lot of work and taking a day to simply relax was the greatest idea of all time. Seriously, I highly recommend not working, sleeping in, and doing whatever you want to do (or nothing) on your special day. You need a break from being a #girlboss so you can keep your creative juices flowing, after all!
As for romantic date night ideas, this is the best one I've ever experienced. Watching the sun set on the beach is pretty amazing but when you add a glass of champagne, it's even better! While this all sounds super fancy and everything, we ended the night with fish and chips from Spud's and I wouldn't have it any other way! If you're in the Seattle area, you seriously need to try it- #yum.
If you aren't anywhere near a beach, just pick another romantic location to watch the sunset with your sweetie and don't forget the bubbles! I hope you enjoyed today's post, thank you so much for stopping by Me & Mr. Jones!
