LIKES:
Jett still LOVES to eat! He started drinking more formula this month and he really likes it. I’m actually worried currently that he’s starting to like it more than breastfeeding, so we shall see if I can still make it to the one year mark of feeding him in the morning and at night. I feel like in the last month Jett has gotten such a funny little personality and he cracks me up every day! Recently, he likes to sit in his high chair with one foot on the tray. It will never get old to me and it’s so funny!
DISLIKES:
This month, he hates when you put lotion on him. I guess it’s kind of cold right after he gets out of the bath so I don’t blame him. Forget about a wipe warmer, why don’t they make lotion warmers?!
MILESTONES:
Jett has 6 teeth and 2 more coming in on the bottom. He’s becoming quite the wild child, crawling everywhere and pulling up on everything. He loves getting into everything and we’ve had to completely redecorate (or un-decorate) our house! When you tell him no, he just looks back at you with this cute little smirk and it’s so hard to be stern with him because that look makes me smile IMMEDIATELY!
40 Weeks- Jett can pull up on everything and also get down from most things. He kind of falls down slowly at this point but he doesn’t cry to get down anymore. He just goes for it!
40 Weeks- Jett’s first piggy back ride! This seems like a silly milestone but in the moment it was so special and made me realize how big he’s getting. He was so happy and started clapping as we walked down the street. I’ve been trying to teach him how to clap for months and he finally did it. I guess he just really makes you work for a clap just as he does with a big laugh! The second time he clapped was when I took him to the park this month. He would only clap when he was swinging really high, so he still makes you work for the clap!
41 Weeks- He started shaking his head “no” when he doesn’t want something. Usually something to eat. When he first did this I almost peed my pants laughing because it was so funny. He was very dramatic about it and fully turned his head from side to side- it was so dang cute.
41 Weeks- We ran out of frozen milk. I knew this day was coming and that’s why we started to give him half and half bottles last month at daycare. For awhile he was still getting breast milk in bottles during the day on the weekends, but now we are officially on formula during the day. We are still using the Enfamil NeuroPro and he seems to like it. CVS has $4 off coupons so make sure you check before buying!
42 Weeks- Learned the sign for “more.” I almost died when he did this because like clapping, I’ve been trying to teach him for months! He did it when he wanted more yogurt and the way he stuck out his tiny little pointer fingers and put them together literally made me melt into pieces!
FEED:
Jett eats A LOT! He is still breastfeeding in the morning and at night and he has 3 formula bottles during the day. We still use the Como Tomo bottles and love them. He can officially hold the bottle on his own and tip it up to get the very last drop. It’s so funny because usually when he finishes off a bottle he really likes to spike it onto the ground. Is this a boy thing?
In addition to breastfeeding twice and getting 3 bottles, he also eats 3 meals a day. At daycare he’ll eat things like eggs, fruit, sausage, fruit pastry crisps, and nutrigrain bars. For dinner he will eat just about anything you put in front of him! He does get upset though when his tray is empty and he’s still hungry, so I just have to make sure he has enough at all times. For more about what he eats and how we introduced him to solids, check out this blog post.
SLEEP:
Jett is still sleeping through the night- hooray! He is also still taking two naps during the day. He takes the first one from 10:00-11:00am and the second from 1:30-3:30pm. He still sleeps with 3 wubbanubs in his crib, but recently he thinks it’s fun to throw them out. Usually he has at least one in his crib in the morning so that’s good! If he does wake up at night, he will fuss for a minute until he finds his paci and then he goes right back down. He’s great at self-soothing! I wrote more about how we got him to sleep so well in this blog post.
That about covers what he’s been up to for the past month. Time flies! His first birthday will be here before we know it, so I’ve started to pin some ideas on my Pinterest page, make sure to follow me for more! Have a wonderful day, y’all!
Xo,
Haley
