Recently I shared our plans for our home office and how I wanted to paint an accent wall black. Part of the plan was to purchase this Minsmere Caned TV Stand to use in that space in front of the black wall so it looked almost like a built in. Plans changed a little bit when I sawpped out the 2 chairs in the office for this TV stand once I painted it black, though! In today’s post I’m sharing all of the photos of our current home office and how I painted the Minsmere Caned TV Stand/Console flat black!
BLACK DEMI JOHN VASES (SIMILAR) // MARBLE CUP //
To get a nice even coat of paint on this cabinet, I purchased a paint sprayer. I had never used one but always have wanted one. It was SO NICE to have! I got mine from Home Depot, but there is also a highly rated more affordable option on Amazon. Spraying the console didn’t really save a lot of time, but the end result is WAY better than using a brush! The only problem that I ran into was attaching the doors to the cabinet once everything was sprayed. If you paint this cabinet before putting it together like I did, I would highly recommend getting someone to help you put the doors on so they don’t fall and scrape the sides of the cabinet!
I added these glass demi john vases that I spray painted awhile back once the cabinet was in the office (I also just noticed I missed a spot- whoops!). To balance that out, I added some books from this post on the other side along with a wooden vase from a recent Target haul! The stems are from Amazon and they are so pretty! Lastly, I added this beautiful brass tray from Target and I LOVE how it turned out!
If you paint your Minsmere piece, tag me on Instagram so I can see it! Have a great weekend, y’all!
