I’m so excited about Jett’s first Easter and can’t wait to share all of these Easter basket ideas for children under the age of 1! Everything I’m sharing in today’s post is something that Jett loves so I know these items will be perfect for your little one as well. Keep reading for all of my ideas and even some cute Easter egg hunt ideas too!
All of the ideas in today’s post are candy free. I actually thought about getting some candy for Jett (you know, for myself and for him to have a biteof- ha!) but there aren’t a lot out there he could actually chew other than a Reese egg maybe.
I started off by getting an Easter basket from Target that has a handle that can fold down. It’s perfect for those of us who are short on storage! I also got these pastel Easter eggs from Target and poured them onto the floor and Jett had SO MUCH FUN playing with them! That made me realize that his Easter basket can be super simple and he’ll still enjoy it.
Here is a list of ideas for your babies Easter basket:
1. JELLYCAT BUNNIES
These little stuffed animals are the softest I’ve ever felt! All of my nephews call them their “bun buns” which is just adorable. They’re also machine washable and I know that they last well because my nephews are all in excellent condition after being regularly washed. The little lovee option is so sweet too! Jett went through a stage where he loved holding onto his small Jellycat bunny while in his car seat- it was just the cutest!
2. CARROT TEETHER
This carrot teether is probably one of Jett’s most used toys! Seriously he is always holding it ever since my sister bought this for him when he was about 5 months old. He also has a banana teether that he likes but prefers the carrot which is perfect for an Easter basket!
3. ‘IF I WERE A BUNNY’ BOOK
This little board book is one of Jett’s favorites! I love the sensory board books and so does he. It’s also very short which is perfect for his attention span at this age- ha!
4. TOY REMOTE
When Jett was little I let him choose from 2 toys at Buy Buy Baby and this was his choice. I let him pick between the 2 toys 3 different times and this was his pick every time and he still loves this remote toy! He also likes throwing it but other than that it’s great. The songs aren’t too annoying after hearing them 9,000 times which in my opinion is hard to say for most singing toys! The batteries also last forever in this thing and you have the option of turning the sound off.
5. TOY CELL PHONE
I keep this little toy cell phone in my bag or our diaper backpack! It’s a great toy for on the go and I have a pacifier clip attached to it so that I can hook it onto Jett if we’re at a restaurant or somewhere in public so that he can’t throw it onto the floor. It makes little noises like the email sound on your phone which is funny and cute!
As far as an Easter egg hunt, Jett probably had the most fun just playing with all of the empty eggs on the floor to be honest! For his actual Easter basket, I’m going to fill some of the eggs with his favorite pacifiers since he needs some new ones anyway. That will be fun! I also saw this idea on Pinterest and we might try it! They tied balloons to the Easter eggs so that they were easy for toddlers and little ones to find. I honestly think that at Jett’s age he would just tug on the balloon for awhile and have a blast. I would of course enjoy watching and take some cute photos of his first Easter so it’s a win-win for both of us!
