Hello and Happy Friday! I posted about the Friday 5ish back in October but got BUSY BUSY with holiday and traveling. If someone asked me to go somewhere last year, I was there! I wanted to start this series to share things I normally don’t get to share on social (or just forget to)! It could be 5 things, 2, or 10! There are no rules here. So let’s get into today’s topics and I’M SHARING A PHOTO OF MY TATTOO!
ONE //
Our Christmas decor is all put away (ok mostly), but our formal living room was feeling so sad. During the holidays, I had this amazing olive tree from the living room in the corner. When I put it back in the living room that space felt so…empty. We have olive trees, faux fiddles, so we needed something different. I don’t do real large plants in the house because they’re messy and our windows are also tinted so no UV comes through. I was about to purchase this spectacular tree and Nearly Natural happened to DM me on Instagram and ask if I needed anything. Excuse me, serendipity what?! Check my Instagram for a reveal soon!
TWO //
Videos of girls wrapping their hair around lululemon leggings and sleeping with them on their heads kept popping up on my Tiktok feed so I thought, why not try it! LIFE. CHANGING. You mean to tell me I can just wake up and my hair is done? Stop it right now. I’ll share a tutorial on my Instagram stories and save it to highlights!
THREE //
You already know I LOVE a good faux plant, but this year I decided to add uplighting to some of the plants in our home after the holidays. It doesn’t totally replace the glowing Christmas lights but it’s a VIBE to have nice lighting on your large plants at night! These little lights are battery operated, have a timer, and remote controlled. I LOVE THEM!
FOUR //
We have needed a coffee table for our formal living room well, since we moved in. I cannot for the life of me decide on a style I absolutely have. I also need the storage that the trunk there currently provides. I found this coffee table on sale- should i buy it and possibly paint the base of it?! Or should I find another means of storage and buy this beauty?!
FIVE //
I GOT A TATTOO! Honestly, I never thought I would type those words. However, Skyler has been asking me to get a tattoo with him for YEARS. I told him when he had a great idea I might consider it. A few months ago, we were in Kentucky having the time of our lives and he goes, “why don’t get get horseshoe tattos?!” Being that we grew up in Kentucky, fell in love in Kentucky, moved in together in Kentucky…it just made sense. I was still hesitant because I’m a perfectionist and if I’m getting a tattoo I want it to be perfect. By New Year’s he has also convinced my mom, brother, and sister in-law to get the same one. My brother is a blacksmith and shoes race horses in Kentucky so we collectively decided we would get the outline of the horseshoes he uses. The tattoo artist used a photo of that to create the outlines and the guys went first. We were with all of the kids and had to wait for them to finish so they could take the kids and we could get our tattoos. The guys tattoos were a little bit larger than what my sister-in-law and I had wanted, so the tattoo artist simply removed the inside line that the guys had and added dots at the bottom. Mine has three (my lucky number, we got married October 3rd, and there are 3 of us in our family, and she got 4 dots. Instead of getting black ink we went with dark brown and I LOVE IT! It is still healing and might possibly need to be touched up but it’s perfect to me. I got it on the outside of my left wrist so it really isn’t obvious and it feels so special.
Heatless curls from wrapping my hair around Lululemon align leggings!
That’s all for this Friday, check back next week for more!
