DIY and date night might not seem like they go hand in hand, but they do this summer! Today, I'm exploring the chic side of this summer's DIY trend and giving you an easy 3 step outfit planning guide. This step-by-step approach to styling is guaranteed to create no-fuss date night ensembles. Plus, the #MAMJdiy will add a dose of glam to your look for $0! Let's get the styling party started, shall we?!
STEP ONE
First, our outfit needs to start with one zero effort piece and a cold shoulder romper definitely fits the bill. This J.O.A. romper also embodies all of my favorite summer trends; cold shoulder, delicate ruffles, and understated floral prints! Rompers with a nipped waist are also super flattering, making it easy to impress your honey! Keep scrolling for more date night romper options at the end of this post!
STEP TWO
After you've got your main piece picked out, you'll need some chic sandals. Enter two of my favorite shoe trends this season: block heels and lace-ups! These Steve Madden "Rizzaa" sandals incorporate both of these trends creating the most comfortably chic sandals I've ever worn.
Wearing a lower block heel is also necessary when Mr. Jones and I take a stroll through our neighborhood to our favorite date night spots. Plus, who wants their high heels to hinder the opportunity to walk to the local ice creamery after dinner?! Not this girl!
STEP THREE
After you've got your romper and sandals picked out, you'll need some glam accessories and a denim jacket for cooler temperatures at night (or if the restaurant is freezing)! You don't want your denim jacket to make your ensemble look too casual, so here's an easy way to dress it up for date night.
First, find some statement earrings or brooches that compliment your romper. I surprisingly found all of the earrings I put onto my jacket in my own jewelry box and didn't have to spend a penny! If you don't have a lot of earring options, you can always snag a brooch set- I love this one and this one. You can fill in the spaces with some stud earrings and just attach them onto the jacket pocket or lapel as you would onto your ear- it's that simple!
Thank you SO much for stopping by today, my darlings! Have a happy weekend!
